Classical Guitar - Michael Christian Durrant

Through his many concert performances and recordings, Michael Christian Durrant is widely recognised as one of the UK's finest classical guitarists, with concerts ranging from intimate solo recitals to large-scale concerto performances. He studied with Maestro Carlos Bonell, professor of guitar at the Royal College of Music (RCM), London and Maestro Giulio Tampalini at Accademia della Chitarra di Brescia in Italy. He is currently completing his PhD at the RCM, where he is the recipient of a full doctoral scholarship and a member of the academic teaching staff. Michael collaborates regularly with others and has performed with a wide range of artists, including the violinist Alexander Markov, the pianist Nico de Villiers, and the flamenco guitarist Samuel Moore. Highlights for the 2023 Season include performances at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and London’s Wigmore Hall. Michael plays a 2008 Greg Smallman concert guitar.
