Introducing Gate City Voices, a new auditioned ensemble founded to perform alongside the professional members of Bel Canto Company, singing expansive music composed for large choirs. In the ensemble's first concert, Gate City Voices and Bel Canto will perform Louis Vierne's "Messe solennelle" (Solemn Mass) for chorus and two organs, a tour-de-force featured at the dedicatory performance of the Letourneau organs at First Presbyterian Church 20 years ago. The concert also features Margaret Bonds' powerful "Credo" on text by W.E.B. Du Bois and Erich Wolfgang Korngold's moving "Passover Psalm."
