Any New Zealanders living in Roma

Posted in Italy forum

Kia ora all (hello in Maori native language of New Zealand)
I have just moved to Roma well about a 40min drive from there and was wondering if people know of any New Zealand groups or organisations that exist here.

I was previosly living in London where we had a very supportive and large community but I'm not sure if there are any similar groups/sports/or gatherings where New Zealanders get together here in Italy.

If you know of any please let me know, but Im also aware that it is more difficult for kiwis and Australians to find work here, hence hardley any living here.

Otherwise if people could suggest any particular groups or ways of meeting other Italians/travelers here would be great. In London I was part of a polynesian hula dancing group as well as traditional Maori dancing group and would love to share my culture with anyone who is interested if it doesnt already exist.

    Hi all,

I come from Brussels, Belgium, and i live in Rome since 3 years. I love Rome but i'm planning to move to New Zealand (it seems it will be to Auckland) at the end of the year.
It would be so nice to meet some kiwis here in Rome.

I know a nice group of foreigners from all araound the world here in Rome, it's "VCN" on yahoo group:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VCN-Rome-Discussions/
You need to ask first to take part. They organise different kind of activies (basket, barbecue, etc) and they have a forum to help each other (apts/housing, jobs, things to give o to sell, questions, etc)

There 's also "Craig list" who's not a group but maybe helpful : http://rome.en.craigslist.it/
Sorry for my poor english, i'm learning!

Hi there! I am a 30 year old female professional from Christchurch coming over for my one year working holiday on my own! Leaving here and arrive in Rome on 29th April, keen to catch up with any kiwis, not sure how I will find the job hunt!
How is it over there?? So excited to be coming but also facing the harsh reality things may be not easy!

    Hi Kerrin
Great to finally see that there are some other kiwis in Rome! I am a NZer from Auckland now married to an Italian with a 2 year old daughter. I am in Rome for the summer (we are still based in the UK but looking to move here when we can). I am staying in Castelli Romani, Grottaferrata. It would be great if we could meet up. Do you know of any other kiwis around? I am sure there must be others! I dont know of any NZ groups yet but I agree it would be great if we could find one or even start one! My email is [...]
